MedReady
Automated Medication Dispenser (with modem)
These
units have a built-in-modem that communicates with the Internet.
The dispenser functions the same as the basic MedReady dispenser,
and an active phone line is also plugged into the unit modem.
If
the patient is non-compliant (does not open the medication
door within the programmed time), a signal is sent from the
unit to the website. The website then places an automated
phone call to the patient. A recorded message is played and
the patient is required to enter a one-digit code on their
touch-tone phone.
If
the patient is non-responsive the website places a computer
generated call to the listed caregiver. A recorded message
is played and the caregiver is requested to press a single
digit code to verify they have received the message.
The
caregiver can also access a report of activity from the website.
The report includes alarm times, medication taken times plus
records of any non-compliance, mechanical issues or AC power
outages of over 24 hours.
Website
information can be combined for a group of patients if there
is an overseeing nurse responsible for several patients. All
website access is controlled by password protection.
